Maverick County sheriff detective tests positive for COVID-19


Eagle Pass, TX - A Maverick County Sheriff's Office detective tested positive for coronavirus and has been placed in quarantine. The positive result caused those who work in the office, which by the way is separated from the prison building, to be sent to test themselves, which fortunately all resulted negative.

Sheriff Tom Schmerber reported that he was tested for the seventh time which again came back negative. Schmerber commented that the detective has been reported in a stable health condition and with respect to the infection, he assured that he was infected within his family. At the beginning of October, the jail registered 21 infections among inmates, jailers, patrollers and administrative personnel of the custody area.

Eagle Pass, TX - Un detective del departamento de sheriff del condado de maverick dio positivo a Coronavirus y actualmente se encuentra en cuarentena.


Su caso provocó que quienes trabajan en la oficina la que por cierto esta separada del edificio carcelario fueran enviados a hacerse el examen que por fortuna todos dieron negativo.

El sheriff Tom Schmerber informó que él tambien se hizo la prueba por septima vez la cual dio negativo.


Schmerber comentó que el detective se ha reportado estable en su salud y con respecto al contagio, aseguró que lo adquirió dentro de su entorno familiar.


A principios de octubre, la carcel registró 21 contagios entre reos, carceleros, patrulleros y personal administrativo del area de Custodia.
