Eagle Pass, TX - Maverick County Sheriff's Office deputies secured an alleged smuggler who rolled over his vehicle, after causing a pursuit along El Indio highway.
The subject was traveling with 4 illegal immigrants, resulting in non-serious injuries. The incident occurred near Memorial Junior High School, where the Ford F-150 truck, which was driven by the subject identified as 22-year-old Randy Alexis Baron, was damaged, Sheriff Tom Schmerber announced.
The chase was carried out when an officer saw the vehicle at full speed but with lights off, in an attempt to catch up with the subject, he increased speed until the vehicle rolled over.
Paramedics rushed to the scene to treat the individuals, no one was required to be transported to the emergency room, according to MCSO. Border Patrol arrived to detain the illegal immigrants and bring them to the centralized processing offices on El Indio highway.
Randy Alexis faces three counts, including fleeing from authorities, human trafficking and reckless driving.

El sujeto viajaba con 4 inmigrantes ilegales, resultando con lesiones no graves. El incidente ocurrió cerca de Memorial Junior High School, donde la camioneta Ford F-150, que conducía el sujeto identificado como Randy Alexis Baron, de 22 años, resultó dañada, anunció el alguacil Tom Schmerber.
La persecución se llevó a cabo cuando un oficial vio el vehículo a toda velocidad pero con las luces apagadas, en un intento de alcanzar al sujeto, aumentó la velocidad hasta que el vehículo volcó.
Los paramédicos acudieron al lugar para tratar a las personas, no se requirió que nadie fuera transportado a la sala de emergencias, según MCSO. La Patrulla Fronteriza llegó para detener a los inmigrantes ilegales y llevarlos a las oficinas centralizadas de procesamiento en la carretera El Indio.
Randy Alexis enfrenta tres cargos, que incluyen huir de las autoridades, trata de personas y conducción imprudente.
