Victim of deadly Motorcycle Crash Identified

Eagle Pass, TX - THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY (DPS) is investigating a fatal crash that occurred on June 5, 2022 at approximately 6:39 pm on Farm to Market road 1021 in Maverick County.
The crash occurred approximately 1 mile south of Eagle Pass. Preliminary investigation revealed a 1991 KTM motorcycle was traveling north on FM 1021 when the motorcycle changed lanes without sufficient space and was struck by a 2002 Ford F-150.
Due to the impact, the rider and passenger form the motorcycle came off the motorcycle and sustained serious bodily injuries.
The motorcycle passenger, Gilegenia Escamilla Zendejas, 50, resident of Eagle Pass, was pronounced deceased on scene. The rider of the motorcycle and driver of the Ford F-150 were transported to nearby hospitals in stable condition.
The driver is under investigation for being possibly intoxicated, but it’s still unclear to why he changed lanes. DPS troopers are further investigating this fatal crash.
