Eagle Pass, TX - Elements of the US Border Patrol and Eagle Pass Fire Department rescued a two-month old migrant infant from dying in the Rio Grande River.

BP agents were notified by a group of undocumented immigrants that the baby has problems breathing for which they acted immediately.

Support was requested from Eagle Pass Fire Department, who evaluated the child and determined he had suffered from severe hypothermia because his mother desperately attempted to cross into the U.S. through the river despite the existing cold temperature.

The Honduran mother and child were taken to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center, but due to the seriousness of the minor's illness he was airlifted to a San Antonio-area hospital where it has been stated he is making recovery.
