Eagle Pass, TX - Investigators with the Eagle Pass Police Department's Auto Theft division are conducting an investigation into a case involving an individual who stole a new 2021 Chevrolet Camaro from the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center parking lot.
The thief attempted to drive the sports car to Piedras Negras, Mexico, via International Bridge II, but Mexican authorities returned him after failing to provide proper ownership documentation, according to EPPD spokesman Humberto Garza.
Additionally, when the man arrived at the US side of the port of entry, he was treated because he had an injured arm and had to be transported back to the hospital for treatment.
The red vehicle was secured and handed over to its owner, said Garza, who clarified that the subject will face charges and until then the arrest warrant will be executed against him.

El ladrón intentó conducir el automóvil deportivo hasta Piedras Negras, México, a través del Puente Internacional II, pero las autoridades mexicanas lo devolvieron después de no proporcionar la documentación de propiedad adecuada, según el portavoz de la EPPD, Humberto Garza.
Además, cuando llegó al lado estadounidense del puerto de entrada, fue asistido porque tenía un brazo herido y tuvo que ser trasladado al hospital para recibir tratamiento.
El vehículo rojo fue asegurado y entregado a su dueño, dijo Garza quien aclaró que el sujeto enfrentará cargos y hasta entonces se ejecutará la orden de aprehensión en su contra.
