Teen arrested for driving over 100mph on Veterans Blvd, police say

Eagle Pass, TX - Police officers pulled over a young motor vehicle driver who was caught speeding over 100 miles per hour on a stretch of Veterans Boulevard that is marked 45 miles.


The subject identified as 18-year-old Rubén Gonzalez was in possession of an AR 15 assault-type firearm that he kept in the trunk of the vehicle, according to EPPD.

Eagle Pass police chief Federico Garza reported that it is a major concern for a teenager even with authorization, has the right of possessing such high-powered weapons.


Gonzalez faces speeding charges only, a behavior witnessed frequently specially on young adults.

Eagle Pass, TX - Los agentes de policía detuvieron a un joven conductor de un vehículo motorizado que fue sorprendido conduciendo a más de 100 millas por hora en un tramo de Veterans Boulevard que está marcado como 45 millas.


El sujeto identificado como Rubén González de 18 años de edad portaba un arma de fuego tipo asalto AR 15 que guardaba en la cajuela del vehículo, segun EPPD.

El jefe de policía de Eagle Pass, Federico Garza, informó que es una gran preocupación que un adolescente, incluso con autorización, tiene derecho a poseer armas de tan alto poder.


González enfrenta cargos por exceso de velocidad únicamente, un comportamiento observado con frecuencia especialmente en adultos jóvenes.
