Eagle Pass, TX - Border Patrol officers arrested an individual identified as a wanted felon on sexual assault charges,
The subject had an arrest warrant out of Houston, Texas. He was identified as Junior Bustamante, 45, whom the immigration authority mistook for an illegal immigrant.
Sheriff Tom Schmerber declared that this person underwent a background check and the arrest warrant for the aforementioned cause came to light.
Bustamante was taken into federal custody but was later released to the MCSO and was detained at the Tom Bowles detention center.
Normally, said Schmerber, these people do not appear in court and they evade justice, leaving the process active and therefore, when they are located, their background is discovered.
