Eagle Pass, TX - The Eagle Pass Police Department arrested a male subject after he pulled out a rifle on several individuals.
The subject then barricaded himself in a bathroom at a residence. Eagle Pass Police Chief Federico Garza reported that the episode took place at a residence on Taft St. on Monday when the man threatened a family, armed himself with a knife and barricaded himself in the bathroom of his home.
Police officers arrived at the scene after they were called and attempted to control the situation.
Officials were able to detain the subject identified as 34-year-old Joel Leyva. Chief Garza reported that an officer suffered an injury to one of his hands during the incident. Leyva was placed under arrest and will face multiple criminal charges.
