Siblings get funded to produce film in Eagle Pass

Eagle Pass siblings Alejandro and Robie Flores are producing a film locally based on how diverse life is on the border.

Eagle Pass, TX - Eagle Pass brother and sister, Alejandro and Robie Flores are producing a film named "The In Between".

ITVS, an organization that "partners with filmakers who bring untold stories to public broadcasting to make a difference in the world" is partering with the Eagle Passans. The organization's part in the film is very crucial, as they provide funding for the production of such films.

The In Between film is inspired by self-lived experience growing up in the border, how diverse life is compared to any other place in the US or in the world.

Flores siblings were inspired to produce the film after moving out to larger cities in search for better opportunities and are now wanting to showcase to the entire world how unique life is in the border.

"The border community at Eagle Pass, Texas and Piedras Negras, Coahuila is created by individual and shared moments both mundane and sublime. What happens when we look closely at those moments? The In Between takes us into the individual lives lived along the frontier: the ups and downs of growing up, birthdays, discovering Selena’s music, learning to dance cumbia, field days, first loves, homecoming, high school prom, graduation, and figuring out what’s next. This immersive film forms a coming-of-age story that celebrates the vibrant space between ‘Mexican’ and ‘American’. "
