Del Rio, TX - In a great gesture of appreciation for the 'unsung' Law Enforcement Officers actively serving the overwhelming population of migrants in Del Rio since last week, the community of Del Río is organizing an event, and the Gr8 Cooks with the help of Congressman Tony Gonzales, have agreed to travel to Del Río and assist their community by providing meals this coming Saturday.
Texas' 23rd Congressional District U.S. Representative Tony Gonzales has coordinated with the Gr8 Cooks to donate all food and travel expenses for the popular local experts in grilling to drive up to Del Río and feed all LEOS serving throughout the unprecedented border crisis.
"I think along the lines of law enforcement are the unsung, under thanked and overworked heroes and feeding them is the least any of us can do," Rep Gonzales told the EPNL editorial team. "I have coordinated with the Gr8 Cooks to make sure and feed all of our local, state and federal heroes."
The Eagle Pass-area cooks are looking for volunteers to help feed the hundreds of officers in the border. "This Saturday. The Gr8 Cooks will be driving to Del Río around 8:30 am to join Del Río Cooks and feed all our LEOS handling our border situation," Mayito Obregon, Gr8 Cooks co-owner announced in a well received social media post. "If you would like to donate some time to come help us and represent Eagle Pass in the Del Río Community, send me a message. We will be setting up a tent and serve from there, and any help will be appreciated!"

Obregon said that they are planning to serve an estimated 1,000 plates, with all expenses covered by U.S. Representative Gonzales. "Tony Gonzales Donated Food expenses for Gr8 Cooks to drive to Del Río and Assist in feeding approximately 800-1,000 LEOs handling the border crisis," Obregon added.
When questioned about what will the meals consist of, Gr8 Cooks just mentioned it will be one of their signature dishes.
