Eagle Pass, TX - Following a recent unsuccessful campaign for State Representative, Ramsey English Cantu returns to the political arena, this time aiming for the Maverick County Judge seat.
Incumbent Maverick County Judge David Saucedo recently registered for re-election. The former City of Eagle Pass Mayor is expected to make his official announcement on Monday afternoon at City-owned property, according to an invitation circulation on social media.
Cantu's "formal community announcement" will take place at the "steps of the Eagle Pass Public Library" on Monday afternoon, his invitation says.
Last election cycle, after being disqualified then reinstated Cantu didn't make it pass the primaries after his opponent and seating Representative Eddie Morales garnered nearly double the votes, winning the three candidate race with no runoff.
Lately, Cantu has been actively involved in local events representing State Senator Roland Gutierrez.
