EPPD advises businesses to be cautious and not fall for this type of scam.
Eagle Pass, TX - The EPPD Department has warned citizens concerning a new type of telephone fraud where victims are convenience stores employees.
At least two cases have been presented this week, where the scammers are posing as store owner’s representatives and requesting for money to be deposited into certain bank accounts.
Incidents have occurred in Eagle Pass and Del Rio where employees were requested to drive across the border to deposit a significant amount of cash into a Mexican bank account.
The EPPD advises business proprietors and staff to be cautious and not fall for this type of scam.
