Eagle Pass, TX - An illegal immigrant was found dead in an area known as La Nogalera, located a short distance from the Rio Grande.
Border Patrol agents found the body of the man who reportedly had died a short time prior to the discovery, the causes being unknown until now,
Sheriff Tom Schmerber reported that the victim did not have any document in his clothes that would assist authorities to reveal his identity and nationality.
The area where the body was located is frequently used by illegal immigrants but also by officers who patrol daily, Schmerber said.
The Mexican consulate was also notified of this finding to assist in the efforts to identify the individual.
