Eagle Pass, TX - Maverick County Sheriff's Office detectives placed a 17-year-old man under arrest because he was singled out by a minor under 16 for attacking him with a knife in the middle of this month at a residence with an address in the Chula Vista sector.
The person charged was identified as René Riojas jr, who was detained this week based on an arrest warrant referring to a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The MCSO deputy chief Roberto de Leon stated that the victim, who was transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center and and later to a San Antonio hospital, could be discharged and is currently recovering from his abdominal wound.
The victim reportedly visited the detective area of MCSO to press charges against his aggressor, who will then face his legal situation with the local prosecutor's office.
