Eagle Pass, TX - Elements of the Maverick County Sheriff's Office arrested a subject who attempted to flee, after causing a high-speed chase through areas of Pueblo Nuevo, Monday evening.
This incident took place shortly after 8PM on the 2030 road where a patrol unit detected the 2005 Infinity that was missing a taillight in addition to be circulating with expired license plates.
MCSO deputy chief Roberto de León reported that the driver ignored the instructions to stop; he entered Carla Street and at the height of Wild Oak, his companion, a woman, threw a box out the window that was later found to contain doses of methamphetamine and marijuana.
In an area of road 1021 the subject managed to stop and despite being reluctant, he identified himself as Rubén Ruiz, 29 years old, De Leon stated.
During a search of the vehicle, authorities found several clear bags containing methamphetamine. Ruiz faces several charges for which he will be prosecuted at the hands of a corresponding judge.

Eagle Pass, TX - Elementos de la Oficina del Sheriff del Condado de Maverick arrestaron a un sujeto que intentó huir, luego de provocar una persecución a alta velocidad por áreas de Pueblo Nuevo, el lunes por la noche.
Este incidente se presentó poco después de las 20:00 horas en la vía 2030 donde un patrullero detectó a la Infinity 2005 a la que le faltaba una luz trasera además de estar circulando con placas vencidas.
El subjefe de MCSO, Roberto de León, informó que el conductor ignoró las instrucciones de detenerse; entró en Carla Street y a la altura de Wild Oak, su acompañante, una mujer, arrojó por la ventana una caja que luego se descubrió que contenía dosis de metanfetamina y marihuana.
En un sector de la ruta 1021 el sujeto logró detenerse y pese a mostrarse reacio se identificó como Rubén Ruiz, de 29 años, afirmó De León.
Durante un registro del vehículo, las autoridades encontraron varias bolsas transparentes que contenían metanfetamina. Ruiz enfrenta varios cargos por los cuales será procesado a manos de un juez correspondiente.
