Individual Detained After Early Morning Trespass at Elementary School

DEL RIO, TX — Local law enforcement swiftly responded to a pre-dawn trespassing incident at Lamar Elementary after a community member called 911 at approximately 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday to report an intruder on campus.
According to officials, the suspect scaled the McLymont Street fence and gained entry through an unsecured cafeteria door. Officers from the City of Del Rio Police Department and San Felipe Del Rio CISD Police Department arrived within minutes, locating and detaining the individual inside the building.
Authorities have not confirmed whether the suspect was fleeing from someone or seeking medical attention at the time. The case remains under investigation.
