Eagle Pass, TX - A Great Dane dog attacked a 72-year-old lady, leaving her injured in her right arm, from which she was just beginning to recover from a recent surgery.
The incident took place outside a residence located on Ferry Street, when Mrs. María del Rosario Olivo was picking up the mail from her mailbox. She mentioned that the dog jumped on top of her and attacked her despite the owner having it on a leash while they were walking on the sidewalk.
Eagle Pass Police Department officers responded and formulated a police report, the Fire Department also responded to render medical services to the elderly woman, who was later transported to Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center for further evaluation.
Meanwhile, the authority was able to instruct the Animal Control officers to secure the animal and carry out the corresponding procedures.
The victim said that the owner did not want the police to find out, she is now requesting dog owners to take proper care of them.

Eagle Pass, TX - Un perro gran danés atacó a una señora de 72 años, dejándola herida en el brazo derecho, del cual recién comenzaba a recuperarse de una cirugía reciente.
El hecho ocurrió afuera de una residencia ubicada en la calle Ferry, cuando la señora María del Rosario Olivo estaba recogiendo el correo de su buzón. Mencionó que el perro saltó encima de ella y la atacó a pesar de que el dueño lo tenía atado mientras caminaban por la acera.
Los oficiales del Departamento de Policía de Eagle Pass respondieron y formularon un informe policial, el Departamento de Bomberos también respondió para brindar servicios médicos a la anciana, quien luego fue transportada al Centro Médico Regional de Fort Duncan para una evaluación adicional.
En tanto, la autoridad pudo instruir a los oficiales de Control Animal para asegurar al animal y realizar los trámites correspondientes.
La víctima dijo que el dueño no quería que la policía se enterara, ahora está pidiendo a los dueños de perros que los cuiden adecuadamente.
