Eddie Morales voted next State Rep. thanks to huge win in Maverick County

Eagle Pass, TX - As anticipated by many, local attorney Heriberto "Eddie" Morales Jr. has won the 2020 election and will serve as the next Texas State Representative for House District 74.


The new political comer first scored an enormous win in the democratic primary election, which many considered would be close, surprisingly, Morales took it down with no runoff defeating former Mayor of Eagle Pass Ramsey E. Cantu and Del Rio city councilman Rowland Garza.


Morales worked hard during the campaign gaining support throughout the district by visiting all communities on multiple occasions.


The Eagle Pass attorney announced his candidacy months back shortly after seating State Representative Alfonso "Poncho" Nevarez announced his retirement. Morales also scored huge endorsements of major Political Action Committees and elected officials across the district.


Morales obtained an enormous victory in Maverick County by receiving nearly 11,000 votes or 74% of the vote. With the dominant hometown lead, it is nearly impossible for his opponent Ruben Falcon to come back.

El recién llegado político obtuvo por primera vez una enorme victoria en las elecciones primarias, que muchos consideraron estarían cerca. Sorprendentemente, Morales la eliminó sin una segunda vuelta derrotando al ex alcalde de Eagle Pass Ramsey E. Cantu y al concejal de la ciudad de Del Rio Rowland Garza.
