Del Rio, TX - The community of Del Rio and Val Verde County is heartbroken over the loss of a historic local newspaper, “Del Rio News-Herald,” which was born in 1884.
Arriving with the sad news comes a new opportunity, since many Del Rioans have expressed their illusion to finally be able to read local news at no cost, since the Herald had been charging readers for years to subscribe and read articles online and $1 per newspaper copy.
The News Leader is continuously working on implementing more coverage in the Del Rio, Val Verde County-area and has so far hired an experienced reporter with extensive knowledge in the area.
Good news for Del Rio residents is that the News Leader team brings its unique and effectively aggressive way of reporting to the community and it just gets better, as there will be no cost associated for readers to access it.
Both the organization’s online and print platforms will be provided free of charge to readers, the company will rely on businesses advertisement rather than targeting the wallets of local residents.
Starting in December the News Leader will increase it’s size of paper to the traditional size which is nearly double the current size per page, and will be a Sunday edition bringing the most current and reliable local news for readers in Del Rio, Eagle Pass and surrounding communities.
