Del Rio, TX - The Local Health Authority has notified SFDRCISD that one of our 2020 graduates tested positive for COVID-19.
The identified student participated in the 8:00 p.m. graduation ceremony held this past Friday, June 5, 2019.
SFDRCISD is making this public statement the interest of everyone’s safety; and in an effort to maintain full transparency.
Furthermore, administration has notified the students who were lined up or seated in proximity of the infected student as well as notified any District staff who may have also come in contact with the infected student.
SFDRCISD is confident that all participants in the graduation ceremony maintained social distancing while marching into the stadium, during the ceremony and while exiting out of the stadium.
SFDRCISD also ensured that every student’s temperature was taken prior to entering the ceremony; and that the temperature of every student allowed to participate, registered a normal temperature.
In this instance, SFDRCISD has been informed that the student was, and continues to be asymptomatic. Therefore, it was impossible for the student or the staff to know the student was infected.

Del Rio, TX - La Autoridad de Salud Local ha notificado a SFDRCISD que uno de nuestros graduados de 2020 dio positivo por COVID-19. El alumno identificado participó en las 8:00 p.m. ceremonia de graduación celebrada el pasado viernes 5 de junio de 2019.
SFDRCISD está haciendo esta declaración pública el interés de la seguridad de todos; y en un esfuerzo por mantener la transparencia total.
Además, la administración ha notificado a los estudiantes que se alinearon o se sentaron cerca del estudiante infectado, así como a cualquier miembro del personal del Distrito que también pudo haber estado en contacto con el estudiante infectado.
SFDRCISD confía en que todos los participantes en la ceremonia de graduación mantuvieron el distanciamiento social mientras marchaban hacia el estadio, durante la ceremonia y al salir del estadio.
SFDRCISD también se aseguró de que se tomara la temperatura de cada estudiante antes de ingresar a la ceremonia; y que la temperatura de todos los estudiantes permitidos para participar, registró una temperatura normal.
En este caso, SFDRCISD ha sido informado de que el estudiante era y sigue siendo asintomático. Por lo tanto, era imposible para el estudiante o el personal saber que el estudiante estaba infectado.
