Eagle Pass, TX - Maverick County Sheriff Tom Schmerber reported an incident that took place on Wednesday at 7:30 pm at the county jail.
The incident took place at the Tom Bowles Detention Center where an inmate struck a jailer in the face, injuring him and requiring medical treatment.
40-year-old Juan Cals Torres, who already had charges of assault with a deadly weapon against a person in Rosita Valley who he attacked utilizing a tube assaulting the victim in the face and head, in addition to an arrest warrant for public intoxication issued in San Antonio.
