On the afternoon of Sunday, June 10 at the river that defines the border of Eagle Pass and Piedras Negras, 22-year old José Víctor de León was rescued from the Rio Grande River.
The young man had been swept away by the fast-paced water flow and was about to drown. Fortunately, elements of the beta group from Piedras Negras were close to the site and managed to rescue him alive.
Certainly, this was the young man's scariest moment of his life. It is unknown if the man was attempting to enter illegally into the United States.
