EAGLE PASS, TX — Memorial Junior High has officially announced the appointment of Gerardo “Jerry” Arturo López, Jr. as the school’s new Assistant Principal for the 2025–2026 academic year.
Lopez, a longtime educator and community figure, previously served as the campus Instructional Officer, where he was known for his dedication to students, faculty collaboration, and commitment to academic excellence. His promotion to assistant principal marks a continuation of his leadership journey within the Eagle Pass Independent School District.
A native of Eagle Pass, Lopez is not only an accomplished educator but also a celebrated mariachi vocalist. He has won multiple awards for his musical talent. In addition to his local performances, he earned national recognition as a finalist on Telemundo’s “Nuevas Voces de América.”
