Eagle Pass, TX - The Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Texas First Lady Mrs. Cecilia Abbott, wife of Governor Greg Abbott, has graciously accepted its invitation to deliver the keynote address at the Chamber’s annual banquet. The event is scheduled to be held on March 27, at 7:00pm, at the Eagle Pass International Center for Trade.
The granddaughter of immigrants from Mexico, Mrs. Abbott’s story is a reminder that the American Dream is alive and well in Texas. Both her parents were educators who instilled in their children the love of learning and helping others. She attended the University of Texas and Houston’s University of St. Thomas and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a Master’s degree in Education and a Master’s degree in Theology.
Devoted service to others has characterized her professional as well as personal life. Her signature initiative as First Lady combines the two things that she is most passionate about—Texas and philanthropy, which she calls Texanthropy. Through it she promotes volunteerism and service to others across Texas.
“We are thrilled and looking forward to her presence and message,” said Chamber President William “Billy” Davis. “Her passion towards citizens giving back to their community by volunteering time and effort to worthy causes helps communities become better places to live, work, do business, visit, and play in. It parallels the values, beliefs and goal of the Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce. Her words are certain to strike a chord in and inspire all who attend the Chamber banquet on March 27,” concluded Davis.

La primera dama de Texas, Cecilia Abbott, asistirá al banquete de la Cámara de Comercio de EP
La Cámara de Comercio de Eagle Pass se complace en anunciar que la Primera Dama de Texas, la Sra. Cecilia Abbott, esposa del Gobernador Greg Abbott, ha aceptado amablemente su invitación a pronunciar el discurso de apertura en el banquete anual de la Cámara. La nieta de inmigrantes de México, la historia de la Sra. Abbott es un recordatorio de que el Sueño Americano está vivo y bien en Texas. Asistió a la Universidad de Texas y la Universidad de St. Thomas en Houston y tiene una licenciatura en psicología, una maestría en educación y una maestría en teología.
