Possible drunk driver causes accident, sends two women to ER

Eagle Pass, TX - At 12:06 PM on Wednesday December 5, Eagle Pass Police Officers responded to the intersection of El Indio Highway and Mathiwos Street in regards to a motor vehicle accident involving three (3) vehicles.

Investigating officers and EMS Units arrived to provide immediate assistance to all parties involved.

Officers spoke with the male driver of a 2002 Pontiac involved in the accident who showed signs of possible intoxication.

The driver was transported to the emergency room where he consented to providing a blood specimen.

The specimen will be sent to the DPS Crime Lab in order to determine the level of alcohol or other substance which may or may not have impaired his ability to operate a motor vehicle at the time of the accident.

An arrest is pending the results of the blood specimen at this time.

Eagle Pass, TX - A las 12:06 PM del miércoles 5 de diciembre, los oficiales de policía de Eagle Pass respondieron a la intersección de la carretera El Indio Hwy y la calle Mathiwos en relación con un accidente de vehículo motorizado que involucró a tres (3) vehículos. Los oficiales de investigación y las Unidades de EMS llegaron para brindar asistencia inmediata a todas las partes involucradas. Los oficiales hablaron con el conductor masculino de un Pontiac 2002 involucrado en el accidente que mostró signos de posible intoxicación. El conductor fue trasladado a la sala de emergencias donde accedió a proporcionar una muestra de sangre. El espécimen se enviará al Laboratorio de Delitos de DPS para determinar el nivel de alcohol u otra sustancia que pueda o no haber afectado su capacidad para operar un vehículo motorizado en el momento del accidente. Un arresto está pendiente de los resultados de la muestra de sangre en este momento.
