Eagle Pass, TX - On Tuesday, May 26 during the County Commissioners' Court Meeting, Maverick County Judge David Saucedo and Sheriff Tom Schmerber recognized several officers of the Sheriff’s Department for recently saving the lives of two citizens of the community who were trapped in their house during a fire on May 13.
The officers presented with the recognition are Sgt. Jaime Martinez, Cpl. Valeriano Perez, Deputy Cristian Campirano, and Deputy Nestor Camarillo.
The house fire occurred in the Hopedale area on Precinct 3 after a short circuit of a truck owned by the family ignited the front part of the house.
Failing to respond to their calls, the officers entered the house through the window and moved them safely off the property.
"On behalf of Maverick County, we want to thank the members for their excellent work and for saving the lives of our citizens," officials posted in the Maverick County social media page.

Eagle Pass, TX - El martes 26 de mayo durante la reunión de la corte de comisionados del condado, el juez del condado de Maverick David Saucedo y el sheriff Tom Schmerber reconocieron a varios oficiales del departamento del sheriff por salvar recientemente la vida de dos ciudadanos de la comunidad que estaban atrapados en su casa durante un incendio el 13 de mayo.
Los oficiales presentados con el reconocimiento son el sargento. Jaime Martínez, Cpl. Valeriano Pérez, diputado Cristian Campirano y diputado Néstor Camarillo.
El incendio de la casa ocurrió en el área de Hopedale en el Recinto 3 después de que un corto circuito de un camión propiedad de la familia encendió la parte delantera de la casa.
Al no responder a sus llamadas, los oficiales entraron a la casa por la ventana y los sacaron de la propiedad de manera segura.
"En nombre del condado de Maverick, queremos agradecer a los miembros por su excelente trabajo y por salvar la vida de nuestros ciudadanos", publicaron funcionarios en la página de redes sociales del condado de Maverick.
