EPPD officers responded to an address within the 600 block of North Adams Street after receiving a phone call informing of a female being held against her will.
Officers arrived at a residence and discovered a 29-year-old undocumented female and a 2-year-old child asking for assistance via a bathroom window.
Officers rescued the female and the child out of the residence through the window before any harm came to them after it was alleged a male subject in the residence had utilized a knife to hold the female and her child against their will.
Officers gained access to the residence where after a brief struggle detained a 22-year-old male subject identified as Hector Manuel Rodriguez Torres Jr.
Rodriguez Torres was discovered to currently be on federal probation for human smuggling and has not been formally charged in this incident at this time.
This incident is currently under investigation. All persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Los oficiales rescataron a la mujer y al niño de la residencia a través de la ventana antes de que sufrieran algún daño después de que se alegara que un sujeto masculino en la residencia había utilizado un cuchillo para sujetar a la mujer y su hijo en contra de su voluntad.
Los agentes accedieron a la residencia donde tras un breve forcejeo detuvieron a un sujeto masculino de 22 años identificado como Héctor Manuel Rodríguez Torres Jr.
Se descubrió que Rodríguez Torres se encuentra actualmente en libertad condicional federal por tráfico de personas y no ha sido acusado formalmente por este incidente en este momento.
Este incidente está actualmente bajo investigación. Todas las personas detenidas se presumen inocentes hasta que se pruebe su culpabilidad en un tribunal de justicia.
