Eagle Pass, TX - Maverick County Sheriff deputies on Thursday evening were dispatched to a Siesta Acres residence in reference to a possible assault.
Upon arrival, deputies observed a wounded 41-year-old male subject who was attacked by another man with a knife during a heated altercation.
First responders rendered aid to the victim, however, due to the severity of the injury and for further evaluation the man was airlifted to a San Antonio-area hospital.
Police have interviewed a person of interest during the ongoing investigation. The weapon was recovered by MCSO and is being analyzed to establish if it belongs to the suspected individual.
