Eagle Pass, TX - The checkpoint permanently installed by CBP on the US-side of International Bridge 2 in Eagle Pass, allowed agents to seize three assault rifles and approximately 209 ammunitions intended to be transported to Piedras Negras in a tourist passenger bus.
Despite further details were not released by the federal agency, the long weapons were said to be concealed in an area of the luggage compartment and were located during a second search.
CBP took over the case but due to pertaining to high-powered weapons, it was referred to the National Security Agency.
This incident is not the first involving a charter bus originating from the Houston-based tourist company Tejanos, which was secured at the Eagle Pass-Piedras Negras border for being related to illegal activities in a period of 20 days.

A pesar de que la agencia federal no dio a conocer más detalles, se dijo que las armas largas estaban ocultas en un área del maletero y fueron ubicadas durante una segunda búsqueda.
CBP se hizo cargo del caso, pero debido a que se refería a armas de alto poder, se remitió a la Agencia de Seguridad Nacional.
Este incidente no es el primero que involucra a un autobús chárter proveniente de la empresa turística Tejanos, con sede en Houston, que fue asegurado en la frontera Eagle Pass-Piedras Negras por estar relacionado con actividades ilegales en un período de 20 días.
