Driver drank alcohol before fatal crash in which he lost his life, DPS investigation reveals

Camp Wood, TX - THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY (DPS) is investigating a fatal crash that occurred on July 4, 2021 at approximately 5:55 pm on Ranch Road 337 in Real County.


The crash occurred 3.5 miles east of Camp Wood, TX. Preliminary investigation revealed a gray 2006 Dodge SUV was traveling west on RR 337 when it approached a curve at an unsafe speed.

The vehicle after taking faulty evasive action, drove off the roadway, and rolled over.


The driver, Ryan McKinnley Warner 29, resident of Denton, TX, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced deceased on scene.


An investigation revealed the driver had been drinking alcohol prior to the crash. DPS Troopers are further investigating this fatal crash.

El accidente ocurrió a 3.5 millas al este de Camp Wood, TX. La investigación preliminar reveló que una camioneta Dodge 2006 gris viajaba hacia el oeste por la RR 337 cuando se acercó a una curva a una velocidad peligrosa.

El vehículo, después de realizar una acción evasiva defectuosa, se salió de la carretera y se volcó.


El conductor, Ryan McKinnley Warner 29, residente de Denton, TX, fue expulsado del vehículo y declarado fallecido en la escena.
